Description
The Final Year captures a time of endings and beginnings with breath-taking honesty and heart. Written in moving, lyrical verse, this award-winning collection follows a young person’s journey through their last year of primary school — a time filled with friendships, fears, hopes, and huge changes.
Each poem explores the bittersweet moments of growing up: the excitement of new adventures, the sadness of saying goodbye, and the uncertainty of stepping into the unknown. It’s a celebration of resilience, memory, and finding your place in a fast-changing world.
Winner of the 2024 CLiPPA (CLPE Children's Poetry Award), The Final Year is a touching, relatable read for young people and anyone who remembers what it’s like to stand at the edge of something new.
