Manage your cookie choices

Use Cookie preferences, available in the website footer, to reopen our Consentmo controls at any time.

• Accept All: allow the optional cookie categories.
• Reject All: refuse the optional cookie categories. Necessary cookies remain enabled.
• Save choices: save your selection of Statistics, Marketing and Preferences categories.

You can withdraw an earlier choice by reopening the controls, turning off the relevant optional categories and saving, or selecting Reject All. Changing your choice applies to future use; it does not undo processing that has already taken place. Your browser settings also let you remove cookies and other site data already saved on your device.

Our current banner setting asks for a new choice after 365 days. Choices may need to be set again when you use another browser or device, clear site data, or when a saved choice expires. For assistance, contact support@thebookcrib.com.

What these technologies do

Cookies are small pieces of information stored by your browser. They can remember a basket, keep a login secure, remember your choices or help measure visits and advertising. A cookie can be set through our website or by a service embedded in it.

We also use local storage, session storage, scripts and pixels. Local storage and session storage save information in your browser. Scripts provide shopping features and can load other services. Pixels and tags can send information about page views or actions to analytics or advertising providers. These technologies can operate together; a website file and a cookie are different things.

Categories in our cookie controls

• Necessary: support essential shopping, checkout, security, account access and recording your privacy choices.
• Statistics: help measure website use, visits and performance so we can understand and improve the store.
• Marketing: support advertising measurement, attribution and relevant advertising.
• Preferences: support optional remembered choices and enhanced features.

Our consent controls offer separate choices for the optional categories. Optional categories start switched off. We ask you to make an explicit choice; scrolling or continuing to browse is not acceptance. You can refuse optional categories and continue shopping. Features supplied by optional third-party services may be limited when their category is refused.

Main cookies and their duration

The tables below summarise main cookies identified in our cookie inventory. They are not a list of every downloaded website file. Which cookies you encounter depends on the pages and features you use, your consent choices and your browser.

About durations: Durations labelled "provider default" are reference periods in the provider's documentation, reviewed on 16 September 2026, rather than a measurement of the remaining time in your browser. A duration labelled "configured" reflects settings or code reviewed for this store, rather than a measurement of actual browser retention. A duration labelled "recorded" comes from our cookie register. Actual expiry can vary with configuration, browser restrictions and renewed activity. A session cookie normally lasts for the browsing session. Cookie expiry is separate from how long a provider retains information on its servers.

Statistics, marketing and optional preferences

Google's advertising cookies also include _gcl_au, used for advertising measurement. Google gives the _gcl_ cookie family a 90-day reference period. The short-lived test_cookie checks whether a browser supports cookies for Google's advertising services. Their use depends on the Google services and options applied. Browser storage and embedded services

Our inventory includes the following browser-storage entries and services. Local storage does not have a built-in expiry in the way a cookie can. The website or provider can set its own retention or remove it, and browsers may clear it. Session storage normally lasts for the browser page session; it survives page reloads, and browser restoration can affect its lifetime. You can also remove it through your browser's site-data controls.

• Consentmo: gdprCache, csmConsentIdentifier and consentHeader record or apply privacy choices.
• Google Ads: _gcl_ls supports advertising click and conversion attribution.
• Meta Pixel: lastExternalReferrer and lastExternalReferrerTime record referral information for advertising measurement.
• Shopify: local-storage entries support store sessions, account recognition and cart synchronisation. Separately, ri-* and wpm-ri-* are session-storage entries used by Shopify analytics to manage request identifiers for page, product, collection and search events (Statistics). They are not persistent cookies. Our inventory also records component-status entries.

Google Analytics and Google Ads tags, and the Meta Pixel, support measurement and advertising. Information can include page views, shopping actions, referral information, browser identifiers and device information. Providers may combine information with other information they hold, subject to your choices and their policies.

The store also includes review services from Feefo and Trustpilot, the Smile.io loyalty programme and KrtBite / CartBite notification features. Embedded services may use cookies, browser storage or receive information when their content is loaded or used. Review, loyalty and notification features can have both functional and measurement purposes.

Shopify supplies the storefront, customer-account, cart and checkout services. Technologies that are needed to provide a service you request, such as keeping your basket or applying your privacy choices, are treated separately from optional measurement and advertising.
